‘The Towel to Dry For’ – The Mungo Utility Cloth is a generous sized, multi-use tea towel that lives up to its namesake; the most utilitarian kitchen towel yet. The cotton and linen content reduces lint and fibres from being left behind on surfaces. The perfect cloth for drying, but also makes for a lovely hand towel. 

The intricate design details that run along the cloth’s short ends are inspired by antique French grain sacking material, adapted with a modern twist.

  • About The Brand

    The story begins with just two old antique looms that Master Weaver Stuart Holding came into possession of. He used these looms to weave limited runs of beautiful homeware textiles from what he called his ‘working weaving museum’ – an old barn where passersby could watch him work. 

    Today, guided by a mission "to create heirloom-quality woven goods with integrity in an open and transparent manner", the Mungo team operate South Africa’s first GOTS-certified textile weaving mill on the grounds of Old Nick Village, near Stuart’s original barn, where the entire mill is open to the public. Mungo Textiles also gives back 1% of their annual turnover to a number of social & environmental initiatives via their purpose-built MOVE programme.
