9 Non-Cringey Valentines Date Ideas
You either love Valentine's Day, or you absolutely hate it! We totally hear you, so we've come up with some non-cringey date ideas that you can do with your partner, your Galentine, your roommate, or your bestie. So, whoever you're with on this Cupid day, here are a few of our fave loved-up sitchus you can do on the Northern Beaches...
1. Go for a sunset stroll
Taking a romantic stroll on one of the many beautiful beaches like Palm Beach, Avalon, Bilgola or Newport at sunset is not only 'lovey dovey' but a great way to unwind after a hectic day. Take a bottle of your favourite wine and a few nibbles to make it a 'not-every-day experience' then chill and watch the sun go down. We love The Wood People Picnic Table for this very reason - it makes any picnic sitchu even more special. Click here for more details.
2. Cook together
Sound obvious, and a normal activity, but with everyone's busy schedules, we don't often get the opportunity to cook or eat dinner together. Use this evening to find a new recipe and experiment with different ingredients and flavours! Just don't forget dessert! (Not a dessert person? Pop into Nash + Banks to get some heavenly Shirl + Moss chocolate. It's next level!) + Do you need some recipe inspiration? Check out the delicious Anything's Possible Cookbook, available here
3. Book in for a couples treatment at Chakana, Avalon
Visit www.chakana.com.au for all the details.
4. Create your own custom hats
Design your very own @phyllidesigns custom hats with the talented Laura Hall. Hosted at our Avalon store from the 23rd to 25th February, this experience is not to be missed. It's not only super-creative, but you'll both have the perfect keepsake, a bespoke hat of your own. Please contact us to secure a spot for you or your loved one (FYI we also do gift cards).
5. Picnic at Palmie (or your fave beach)
Take a scenic drive to Palm Beach and enjoy a romantic picnic in the park while taking in the views of the ocean. Governor Phillip Park is a great spot for picnic, it offers a great view of the ocean and the beach. You could also arrange an amazing platter by Palmy Platters {like the one below}. Visit www.instagram.com/palmyplatters for more details.
6. Go on a dinner 'date'
Okay we know this is super-traditional but, we can't go past Bar Elvina for their amazing menu, and on Valentine’s Day they're hosting an intimate 5 course dinner to share the love with your nearest and dearest. That's a 'yes please' from us. Visit www.barelvina.com.au to make your reservation.
7. Float away together
City Cave has a Couples Flauna (Float Therapy & Infrared Sauna) package for V-Day. The Infrared Sauna experience is not only an intimate way to connect with your partner, but it is also highly helpful to your body, as it raises your core temperature, detoxifies your body, clears your skin, reduces pain, calms your nerves, boosts your mood, and helps you sleep better. Floating together allows you to unwind and forget about the stresses of the day while also strengthening your connection. Float Therapy also helps heal the body, reduces stress and anxiety, and immerses the body into deep relaxation. Click here for all the details.
8. Happy Hour at home
How about instead of going to crowded and exey cocktail bars, have a night of making cocktails at home? You could even lounge in your pyjamas! You could also make it a friendly competition where you judge each other's drinks based on appearance, flavour, and creativity. Plus, you won't have find a ride home either. Click here for our favourite bar items that every home needs.
9. Go for ice-cream with a view
Our most favourite ice-cream in the world, Ice Cream Supernova is going to be on Avalon Headland from 5pm to 6.30pm serving up the most-loved-up flavours Vanilla, Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Espresso, Banoffee and Tiger Tail, in cones and cups. For more details follow instagram.com/icecreamsupernova - and we'll see you there!
And remember, you are loved!
