Clean + Conscious Awards

As we head into September, not only has Spring kicked into gear (hello, jasmine!), but this is the month that the Clean + Conscious Awards are held to celebrate products that work in perfect harmony with our bodies, our environment and our society.

The Clean + Conscious Awards are run by a team of women who believe that educating people to consume mindfully, at the same time as motivating brands to manufacture responsibly, will affect change on a large scale.

Anyone who knows me would know that I love to discover, research and curate products that are ethical, sustainable, non-toxic and socially responsible. So these Awards represent everything that I love!

This year, I am incredibly honoured to be joining the Expert Panel, judging the Body category. 

Founded as the Australian Non-Toxic Awards back in 2019, the Awards are the brainchild of Emily Fletcher, a practising Optometrist, mother of two and Editor of website and consumer resource My Non-Toxic Tribe. She has postgraduate qualifications in pharmacology and has studied Advanced Chemistry at university. Her journey into this field began when she discovered endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) were in her daughter’s bath toys, playmat and baby care products as well as in her own beauty, personal care and home cleaning products. From there, Emily has built a large consumer following through her in-depth, detailed, and well-researched guides to choosing safe products.

All products selected as Finalists in the Awards are scientifically-researched by Emily, and are verified to be non-toxic, ethical, sustainable and socially responsible. The products are then hands-on trialled by a team of Experts who score each product based on 1. Usability and 2. Social Responsibility. The 3 products with the highest scores are awarded Gold, Silver, & Bronze.

The wonderful Finalists in the category I'm judging have already sent in their products and I'm already loving the focus on sustainable and zero waste packaging that the products have arrived in. I am really looking forward to spending the next few weeks in lockdown, trialling, getting to know and experiencing all of these brands. The 2021 winners of the Clean + Conscious Awards will be announced in October.
