The Elsewhere Co. believe that luxury and sustainability can exist in perfect harmony. They are committed to sourcing highly sustainable materials without compromising on luxury, style or quality. Their innovative upcycled leather is RSC 100 certified, has low environmental impact, produces zero manufacturing material waste and upcycles large volumes of fully traceable genuine leather offcuts, with a single product saving up to 200 grams of waste.
Their upcycled leather is sustainable, RCS 100 certified and made from fully traceable genuine leather offcuts (otherwise destined for landfill). The offcuts are shredded into fibres, bound together with natural rubber, pigment and water (all natural substances, no nasties!) and then reformed into new sheets of quality upcycled leather. The production process itself creates ZERO material manufacturing waste. It also produces fewer chemical emissions and uses 90% less water than conventional leather production processes.
The Elsewhere Co. is committed to a future without plastic. Rest assured that when you order an accessory from The Elsewhere Co. it will arrive beautifully, carefully and thoughtfully packaged without unnecessary plastics. Each accessory comes in an upcycled cotton dust bag which is durable, reusable and perfect for storing (and protecting) your accessories. They use recyclable tissue paper (no bubble wrap, plastic or styrofoam. Yuck) and 100% compostable mailbags. They're also part of the eco-packaging alliance in which a tree is planted in an area of need each time we order our packaging materials.
UPCYCLED LEATHER CARE
The Elsewhere Co. use premium quality upcycled leather. Just like traditional leather it changes with time and wear and may experience wrinkling, colour fading or darkening, marking or stretching. Colour and surface appearance may vary. These are natural characteristics of the material and are not considered faults.
Take care by avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity and liquids as these may cause damage. If your accessory gets wet, wipe with a soft dry cloth and dry in a well-ventilated, cool room away from direct sunlight. Never apply cleaning agents.
To maintain an attractive lustre, occasionally clean with a soft dry cloth and store in its protective dust bag.
