SUSTAINABLE | ETHICAL | VEGAN | MINIMAL WASTE | UPCYCLED | GIVES BACK
"It wasn't my fault, it was a Full Moon and I was left unattended." In honour of Mother Moon, the legends at The Ahimsa Collective have designed a bag worth of howling for.
The Half Moon Mini is an offering from their latest collection.
Available in both Smoke Piñatex with Gunmetal Hardware and Granite Piñatex with Gold Hardware, this adorable piece triples as a cross-body bag, shoulder bag and clutch.
What’s even more exciting are the materials that are used in its construction. The outside of the bag is made of 100% Piñatex and washable paper, while the inner lining boasts 100% Ecoprene.
In case you missed it, Piñatex is a natural and sustainable non-woven textile made from the fibres of pineapple leaves - the waste product of an existing worldwide industry. Washable paper is similarly wonderful, being sustainable, biodegradable and eco-friendly. Finally, Ecoprene is made from recycled polyester, old clothing and carpets, which means it’s super durable - perfect for ladies who like to dance barefoot in the pale moonlight.
Also available as a Maxi Clutch.
"It wasn't my fault, it was a Full Moon and I was left unattended."

So in honour of Mother Moon, we present to you their Mini Half Moon bag. Tripling as a Cross-body, Shoulder bag and Clutch, we think she covers pretty much all phases.
Plus she's the perfect mix of snazzy and cute. #balance

SUSTAINABLE & UPCYCLED
Every item sold by The Ahimsa Collective is carefully crafted using sustainable or recyclable materials. From Piñatex (made from pineapple fibres) to Ecoprene (made of recycled carpets and post-consumer clothing) to washable paper, every element has been chosen based on its impact on the planet. Their aim to not only reduce the fashion industry’s footprint, but attempt to reverse it. Washable paper is similarly wonderful, being sustainable, biodegradable and eco-friendly. Ahimsa’s material is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, making it the perfect alternative to leather.
Following their no-waste ethos all the way through to delivery of your new items, all materials used in the packaging of The Ahimsa Collective goods produce minimal waste. Internal material and boxes are made from 100% Recycled material and are printed using soy-based inks. Boxes are then placed into a custom branded The Ahimsa Collective biodegradable and compostable ‘plastic’ mailer. Tissue used is acid-free, FSC certified and used is soy-based. For every tissue paper order they place, their partner plants trees in areas of need.
This bag is a PETA-Approved Vegan product, meaning during the production and creation of this product, there is no animal suffering in any capacity.
Just like any other material (but better obviously) The Ahimsa Collective's materials need some love and care as well. Below are a few tips and tricks on keeping your new The Ahimsa Collective item looking as chic A.F. as the first day it wrapped around your arm.
As Piñatex is a natural material, it will wear and age based on how you use it, becoming your own unique item.
To help reduce any unwanted wear, keep your item in its cloth bag whenever it's not slung over your arm. Its best to keep it in a nice spot out of direct sun and away from water/moisture and perfumes.
Ongoing treatment of your Piñatex item is highly recommended, based on how often you use it will depend on how often you need to wax it.
A good sign is when you see the natural fibres of Piñatex showing, give them a good wax down. This is a natural effect of the Piñatex material so don't be alarmed - your item is still as strong as the first day you wrapped it in your arms.
If you have a black Piñatex item, then this will likely be more obvious than the metallic Piñatex products. Our metallic items are slightly different so there is no need to wax them.
The Ahimsa Collective treat their own products with an eco-friendly boot polish. Using small spot treatments on only those areas that need it. You might also like to apply a small [and we mean small] amount of PawPaw cream to the handles, every now and then, to keep them looking fresh.
Remember, Piñatex is a plant - so it needs to be treated like your indoor plant friends.
Just like the other materials Ahimsa Collective use, the Washable Paper is a natural material and handmade.
As such, these items will wear to become your own custom items.
