Introducing the Ladyfinger Cactus (Mammillaria Elongata) Pre-Potted Mini Pot Plant! Part of the mini range of pot plants from Greenhouse Co.
Take a legendary little plant, add a handmade ceramic mini pot, and Bob's your uncle! They may be small, but they will still bring a healthy touch of green to that shelf you've been staring at now for weeks.⠀
A striking hand-made ceramic piece. This Tripot has been glazed in Saturn White. Saturn White is a semi-matte, white glaze. This piece was handmade by master ceramicist Mark Gambino.
It comes complete with a charming little Ladyfinger Cactus that forms clusters of cylindrical stems that can be white to golden yellow or brown. These lovely ladies are endemic to a limited area of Mexico.
This item is part of Greenhouse Co's pre-potted range. As such, your little Ladyfinger Cactus will arrive already potted directly into its new ceramic home. They will wrap the pot up in calico to ensure no soil is lost during transport and deliver them securely in their 100% recyclable cardboard packaging.
**NOTE: Currently only able to ship to Sydney and the Central Coast of NSW, Australia
Although they are quite common across their limited range populations in some parts are being threatened by development and predation by goats. Don't let their (sort of, not really) lady-like appearance fool you these cacti are bloody resilient and an excellent cactus for beginners.
Greenhouse Co have matched the Ladyfinger Cactus to The Tripot - Saturn White, handmade by master ceramicist Mark Gambino.
The Tripot also has a drainage hole to provide better air circulation to your plant.
A Bit About the Ceramicist
Mark was introduced to pottery in primary school at the age of 10. He loved the feel of clay and being able to create from the earth. After a short session at school, he begged his parents to enrol him in a pottery school. Mark now has over 40 years experience and has made pottery for David Jones and Country Road.
In 2017 Mark opened his own studio where he teaches and thankfully continues to make pottery. He's still passionate about his craft, always trying to better his work. In recent years making his own glazes and experimenting with new colours and effects has become a bit of an obsession for Mark.

Greenhouse Co is all about:
Helping you transform your space with beautiful plants and ceramics;
Encouraging a passion for plants by helping you to care for and be successful with your plants – they don’t want you to buy more because you killed the last lot, they want you to buy more because you love them!
They are also passionate about collaborating with other small businesses! That's why they offer a selection of beautiful ceramic pots made by in collaboration with local pottery artists. Similar to the plants themselves, each piece is different and unique, and that makes them beautiful and a perfect medium for indoor plants.
SUSTAINABLE & MINIMAL WASTE
Sustainability and minimising waste are important to Greenhouse Co - which is why they have designed fully recycle-able, plastic-free packaging. Each plant is delivered in a reusable plastic pot (so that it can be easily lifted out for watering and rehomed when it grows) and recyclable packaging, including coir fibre (an already-recycled product that is 100% compostable) and calico bags.
If you've ever killed a succulent, chances are you were overwatering it. Don't worry though watering is pretty simple with these beauties. Wait until the soil in the pot has almost completely dried out before watering again heavily. When you water, try and apply it to the soil only and avoid getting your cactus wet as much as possible. A little bit won't hurt but try not to douse it with water. Water less in winter and if in doubt, don't water.
They love bright direct light so near a westerly or south-facing window or balcony is great.
These guys are currently about 10cm tall by 20cm wide. Over time, the clump of stems will continue to expand to about 30-40cm wide. Although they aren't a slow grower by cactus standards, they will remain happy in their current pot for a few years.
