Not many people would trade in a full-time career as an architect to start their own jewellery business, but Clara Ho isn’t like most people.
Although she originally studied architecture and law at university, her heart has always been drawn to design and jewellery. After much reflection, she decided to take the leap and start Burton Metal Depository - a home for statement pieces that blend sleek metals with architectural design.
The Delta Sterling Silver Necklace is a striking piece of art, featuring an understated pyramid on one side and unique charcoal geometry on the other.
Made from solid 925 Sterling Silver, the piece comes from her Apices Collection and pays tribute to Imhotep - the high priest of the sun god Ra and fabled architect of Ancient Egypt’s pyramids.
And, because each pendant and chain have been individually finished by Clara’s own hands, you can rest assured that you’ll be the owner of a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

The necklace can be worn at the beach, over a casual tee, or under business shirts. The double sided design means you can choose which side faces outwards, so you're essentially getting two necklaces in one!
The Delta design is from the Apices Collection, a tribute to Imhotep - the great architect attributed with creating the first ancient Egyptian pyramids.
Each piece is individually finished by hand, so you can be assured the necklace you wear has its own character, unlike any other.

Burton Metal Depository provides timeless accessories for modern men who want to distinguish themselves from the crowd.
Their mission is to provide you with meaningful, understated pieces of jewellery that distinguish you as a design-conscious, modern man. Their pieces are architecturally inspired and embody their unique aesthetic, distinctive detailing and timeless appeal. Each product is crafted and hand-finished in Tasmania, Australia, in limited numbers, meaning your piece will be completely unique.
Burton Metal Depository's jewellery is designed to wear and age over time, just like a great pair of jeans. They believe this gives each piece an individual character depending on how it's been worn. If you'd like to spruce up your piece from time to time, here are a few tips:
Sterling Silver will darken over time, and can even turn black if it's in contact with certain chemicals (chlorine pools, perfumes and even some people's bodies!) Use a silver-cleaning cloth, or some toothpaste on a soft cloth, to restore the colour.
Matt finishes, particularly on rings, will look more polished over time as the metal gets worn. Gently rub a 3M Scotchbrite pad (the dark green ones from the supermarket) over the surface in one direction to create a matt finish again.
The black oxidised finish on some of Burton Metal Depository's pieces will wear off over time. This is a deliberate effect as it exposes the metal underneath. If you'd like the finish restored, you can send the piece back to them for re-blackening (a $45 fee will apply as this involves stripping back the original and re-applying multiple coats to the piece).
All of Burton Metal Depository's necklace chains are made with an open bail (round loop). This means that if the chain gets caught on something whilst you're wearing it, it will fall off rather than injure your neck. If you notice the loop opening up by itself, simply use a small pair of pliers to squeeze the ends back together again.
