ETHICAL | ARTISAN | SUSTAINABLE | GIVES BACK
Wave After Wave’s handplanes are the perfect combination of style and substance, helping bodysurfers make ethical choices every time they catch a wave.
The Arrow Fish is crafted in an Indonesian woodworking village and regularly visited by the WAW team to ensure fair workers’ agreements are upheld. Each handplane is individually handmade using locally-sourced plantation timber Mindi or White Cedar, an FSC-certified timber.
This particular material possesses an incredible strength-to-weight ratio and is naturally hydrophobic, which means you can surf easier, faster and longer.
As with all of their handplanes, the Arrow Fish also comes with a fully-adjustable Yulex Pure bio strap, made of plant-based rubber (certified by the FSC and Rainforest Alliance), recycled polyester velcro, and solvent-free glues.
What’s more, to replace the timber that they use, WAW is planting a native tree for every handplane sold through the Carbon Neutral Charity Fund.

It is a sustainable FSC certified timber - native to both Australia and Indonesia - which is not listed as being under any threat environmentally.
WAW Handplanes' unique fully adjustable strap system is created using Yulex Pure plant-based rubber, which is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Rainforest Alliance, as well as recycled polyester velcro and Aquas solvent free glues.
ETHICAL / ARTISAN
WAW's white cedar handplanes are handmade and manufactured both in Sydney, Australia and Bali, Indonesia.
The village in which their Indonesian workshop is located is a woodworking village and the craftsmen and women are incredibly passionate about their work. They visit the workshop regularly to ensure quality control and fair workers agreements are upheld.
All handpanes shaped overseas are received, fine-tuned, and have the final touches applied in our Australian workshop before reaching the market.
WAW Handplanes plant a tree for every timber handplane sold.
